This is the cutest gift for teachers, co-workers or anyone on your list! They are so easy to make too!

Supplies Needed

I bought several 7 ounce Hershey bars, but you could also make these with Mr. Goodbar or any large size candy bar. I had a red knit shirt that I cut up to make the hats. I also had a green knit shirt that I cut up for the little scarves. You will need white paper, a black magic marker, orange puff paint for the "carrot" nose and scotch tape. I sewed the hats with my sewing machine but you can sew them by hand if you want. You will also need scissors, I used pinking shears because they keep the fabric from unraveling. If you don't have pinking shears, cut the pieces out diagonally. This will also keep it from unraveling. You will also need buttons and thread.

Covering the Candy Bars

Measure around the candy bar. Add 1". I came up with 9" plus 1" for the overlap. Measure the width of the candy bar, Mine was 7-1/2" I cut my paper &-1/2" x 10". Wrap around the candy bar and tape. I used freezer paper but any plain white paper will work.

Applying the Carrot Nose

Every snowman needs a carrot nose. Paint this on with orange puff paint. Allow to dry for a couple of hours.

Drawing the Face

CAM00296.jpg
with a black magic marker or black puff paint, draw 2 large dots for the eyes and several small dots for a smile. Down the center below the face, draw 3 large dots for buttons. Leave at least 1" between the mouth and the coal buttons because the scarf will need to go there.

Sewing the Hat

Cut a rectangle out of the red knit fabric for the hat. 7" x 10" Fold this in half so now it is 7" x 5" and sew the side, with a 1" seam allowance. Open the seam and turn right-side-out. Fold one end up about 1" and then fold it over again. On the other end, cut strips about 2" long, approximately 1/2" wide. Cut a 6" piece of red fabric to tie the pom pom on the top of the hat. Scrunch all the fringe together and tie the strip of red fabric around it in a knot. I sewed a button on the front of the hat. This is optional but it helps keep the brim of the hat from unfolding. I also sewed a few stitches in the back where the seam is.

Scarf

Cut a 1" x 12" piece of any color knit fabric for the scarf.  Wrap around the candy bar and tie in a knot.
