Canine Ball Leash (no More Lost Balls in the Park!)

01_finished project.jpg
My dog likes to keep a tennis ball in her mouth when we go on long walks.  However, she'll drop them from time to time and then we have to go find it.  Those things are expensive!

Now we play fetch, then I attach the ball to her collar before we go for our long walk.  No more treasure hunts for missing balls!

Materials

Materials
1)  Leash (which you will destroy)
2)  Ball with hole in it (I used a "Chuckit! Max Glow Ball")
3) Dog :)

Cut the Leash

Cut the leash handle off.  Make a knot at the end of the leash, and fiddle with where the knot is so that the remaining leash is at a length where it will comfortable fit to your dog's mouth and also won't drag too much on the ground.

(Temporarily) Attach the Ball to the Knot

Squeeze the ball so that the hole is more a flat oval, and less a circle.

Then smush the knot in so that the ball is securely attached to the leash.

When you let go of the ball, the hole will go back to a circle and this will keep the knotted leash end inside the ball.

Now.... let's go to the park!
