Cardboard Cabin
I'm obsessed with little, miniature, and tiny things. Also, I love to build cardboard creations 'cause it's easy to work with. So, I'm making a cardboard miniature house.
Supplies
Cardboard, Hot glue, Paint, Paper, Wood slats.
Plan It
Grab some pencils and paper and think up ideas on what you want. Use your imagination!
Cut It
Cut out the shape of your cabin, glue the sides together, and glue a piece of paper over the corners for stability.
You'll want to cut out windows and doors before you glue all the pieces together.
Siding
Fold a sheet of paper. (as shown in the picture) Cut it to the shape you want and glue it on the side of the walls, leaving a space underneath for the foundation.
Stone Foundation
Cut out rock shapes out of cardboard and glue it in the space under the siding.
Roofing
First, make a "tin" roof by peeling off the outer layer of cardboard so the corrugated part will show.
Second, cut off pieces from the wood slat and glue them onto the roof like scales.
Paint
Paint the siding, stone, and tin roofing. Don't paint the shingled roof unless you don't want it to look like wood.
Details
Now, for the fun part. Add all the little details. Logs, window frames, trim, sawdust, whatever you want. This will pull it all together to make it look realistic.
Additional Thoughts
I realized didn't say anything about the back of the cabin, so here's some pic's. I made a little shop on the back, and set up a storefront just for fun. Also, I made the roof so it could open, so I could set stuff up in it.
