Cardboard Cat Scratching Post

I had a lot of cardboard in the basement after the holidays and decided to make a scratching post for my cats.

Making the Base

I started with a piece of plywood roughly 6"X6" and a 1"x1"x16". I screwed the plywood to the bottom of the 1"x1". I then added a broken cat to the 1x1, it fit pretty well!

Adding Cardboard

I cut apart cardboard boxes to roughly 6"x6" squares with a hole cut in the middle. I then stacked the squares on the 1x1 and coated the cat squares with cat nip. The cats seem to really like it!
