Do you need a fun activity to do with your class? Or perhaps a creative outlet for your kids on a summer day. Cardboard masks can be a fun and easy way to let your kids be creative. With a few simple steps and a whole lot of fun your kids can have a handmade mask they can admire and play with. The instructions for these cool and inventive cardboard masks are as follows:

Time required: 30
– 45 minutes Materials needed:

· Cardboard

· Acrylic paint

· Paper

· Scissors

· Hot glue gun

· Googley eyes

· Markers

· Fabric

· Feathers

· Felt

Find a piece of cardboard making sure it’s not too thick. Trace an outline of the shape desired making sure to outline the eyes and a mouth, if wanted.

Use a knife or scissors (preferably an X-Actoknife) to cut out the shape of your mask and the mouth and eyes.

Decorate the masks as desired. Let the kids go crazy and use whatever they wish to make their masks their very own. Some fun things to use to decorate the masks are fabric, googley eyes, and acrylic paint. To attach the decoration such as fabric you can use a little wood glue or a hot glue gun.

Allow the mask to dry about 5 to 10 minutes, longer if needed. You want to make sure that the decorations are dried onto the masks so they don’t fall off.

On the masks mark little holes where you will punch holes to secure your masks to your face with string. Use a hole puncher to create the holes on the mask where marked.

Thread a piece of string into the holes of the mask, making sure the string is a reasonable length compared to the circumference of the child’s head.
