Cardboard Phone Tv
Watching tv on your phone is fun and easy but it can frustrating if you have to hold your phone the whole time. That's why I decided to make this cardboard phone tv. I used cardboard because it is very cheap to get (probably free) and you don't need al lot of tools to work with it.
Tools and Materials
You don't need a lot of materials to make this. You will only need some cardboard, a knife, some glue,a pencil and maybe an eraser, a ruler and a computer, a printer and a pair of scissors to make a template. You can also just draw the shapes directly on the cardboard but I first made a template on my computer because I'm not a very good at drawing.
The template I used for my phone (a Wiko Bloom) probably won't fit your phone. You will have to change the template to the dimensions of your phone or make a new one.
Drawing the Shapes on the Cardboard
Start by cutting out the template and draw it on the cardboard.
Depending on the depth of your phone and the thickness of the cardboard you use you will need more layers of cardboard or less. In the last picture you see the three shapes I used. I used 2 layers of the first shape, 2 of the second one and 5 of the third one but only the last 2 layers have "legs" (in the last shape I actually used 2 layers of cardboard that was twice as thick and already had 2 layers because I was out thinner cardboard).
Cutting Out the Shapes
Carefully cut out the shapes you have drawn.
Test if your phone fits inside, the screen is fully visible and make sure that no buttons are pressed in when it is inside.
You can still make the holes a bit bigger if you are not sure it will fit, it's better a bit too loose than too tight.
Bend the "legs"
I have bended the legs of the back to make the get a better viewing angle. You could also just make de legs a bit shorter.
Glue Everything Together
Glue all the pieces together and apply some pressure to make sure everything is firmly connected.
I used some kind of wood glue but a normal glue stick or something else would probably work to.
Finishing
I used the cap of marker to make two small circles and I glue them as buttons on the front of the "tv".
All that is left is to clean up the edges to make them look a bit better if necessary. You could paint it but I liked the cardboard look of it so I decided to leave it like this.
My phone has the connections for the charger and headphone on the top but if it's necessary you can add some holes on the side so you can use those.
Relax
Now just insert you phone and relax with some movies or tv.
If you have any questions you can leave them in the comments section.
