Cardboard Polaroid Camera
Here’s a relatively easy cardboard creation that you can make to entertain yourself during quarantine.
Creating All the Panels
Mark out cardboard polygons with these dimensions and cut them out;
- 3.5 x 12 - x2
- 3 x 12 - x1
- 5 x 12 - x1
- 8 x 12 - x1
- 2 x 12 - x1
- 1 x 12 - x1
- 1 x 2.5 - x1
- 1 x 2 - x1
- 0.5 x 1 - x1
- 1 x 3.5 - x1
- 12 x 14 - x1
- cardboard tube, length - 2
- cardboard tube, length - 4 - (cut one end on sharp angle)
- cardboard cube without ends cut to fit cylinder
- cardboard circle - diameter - 0.8
- You will also need to create the side panels which have measurements in the photo above.
Although these measurements seam exact I did a lot of this bye eye and am measuring this after it’s creation. Because of this you can create and alter panels to fit YOUR build.

Assemble the Panels
Assemble the parts with the information above. For the 2 cylinders, 1 x 2.5, 1 x 2, 0.8 x 1, the small circle and the ‘sideless cube’ refer to the other photos for guidance.
Adding Colour!
Finish it off with a lovely paint job, (yes, I am aware mine is blotchy 😔), and call it a day!
