Cardboard Stylish Chandelier

I had to find a suitable chandelier for my room without spending exorbitant amounts. The cardboard competition gave me the right inspiration to start one of my usual DIY projects. So while my girlfriend will hate me ... Ahahah :D

- Cardboard

- Ruler

- Pencil

- Cutter

- Universal clear glue

- Bulb and holder

- Spray paint

Position the ruler so that it fits on one side of the cardboard. Draw a line across the top of the ruler so that it is parallel to the underside of the cardboard. The height of the ruler in my case is about 3 cm or about 1 + 1/5 ".
Move the ruler so that the newly drawn line matches the bottom of the ruler. Run a line across the top again. By doing this, you can reproduce several parallel lines.

At this point we can proceed with the realization of the cardboard strips.

Make a cut perpendicular to the lines drawn previously at a distance from the edge of about 100cm or 40".

Consequently proceed with the horizontal cut following the single lines. The more precise we are at the moment, the more beautiful and homogeneous the final result will be.

Prepare the first strip so that you can make a square large enough to hold the bulb holder.

In my case I chose to make marks with the pencil at a distance of about 12cm or 5 ".

At the last mark we make a clean cut of the cardboard while in the other cases we cut only superficially in order to allow us to make the corners of the square.

We proceed in this way, also with the other strips, positioning the marks at distances every time greater than about 1 cm or 1/2 ".

At the ends of the strip I cut at 45° to allow the two edges to be glued together more easily.

After positioning the glue on the ends, couple the sides to obtain a perfect square and place a support on the top of it to allow to glue the two ends solidly.

Take the smallest square, the one with the side of about 12 cm or 5 ".

Place it on the remaining cardboard and trace the edges with the pencil.

Cut the cardboard at the mark. Draw two lines that start from the opposite corners of the square to find the center of the square itself.

Look for a cylindrical detail with a size comparable of the bulb holder. In my case it is a cap of a jar of glue.

Place it in the center and trace its outline with a pencil.

Cut the circle and glue the piece just produced above the square with a 5" side.

Place the squares produced on a table and proceed with painting.

I helped myself with another cardboard to protect the surface of the table I was using.

Paint the squares inside and outside to make the piece homogeneous.

We proceed to glue the squares from the largest to the smallest.

We alternately position the squares by rotating them 45° in order to create a kind of pyramid.

Pay attention to glue the squares by positioning the glue in the internal joint parts so that nothing is noticed externally.

To avoid displacement of the squares during gluing, I helped myself with a superior support that allowed me to keep everything fixed (piece of wood or iron bar).

Once the pyramid is completed and having given a further coat of paint, we can proceed with the creation of the chandelier by inserting the bulb with its support inside the pyramid.

We just have to connect everything to the ceiling and the result does not seem bad to me.

What can I say ... My girlfriend changed her mind and I also had her approval. Yeeeeah !!!!
