Catnip Pillow Toy

This is a very easy project that is inexpensive to create and your feline friend will truly enjoy!

You Will Need:

Fabric

Thread

Catnip

Overlock Surger

rotary cutter

I made it at TechShop! using the Overlock serger and sewing kit available with sewing tools including the rotary cutter. The rotary mat used is available in the Textiles area. The friendly TechShop staff is also there to help with any questions you may have on any project.

To begin, cut a small square out of your chosen fabric. Mine is about 3.5" x 3.5" but the choice is up to you. You don't want it too big or it will be difficult for your kitty to carry around.

After cutting your square you will have 2 pieces. You will want the right side of fabric facing out for this project.

Using the Overlock Serger machine, serge the squares together on three sides, creating a small pocket.

Fill the pocket about 1/2 way with the catnip. Don't fill too full or it will be hard to sew closed.

Once filled, surge the remaining side closing in the catnip and finishing your pillow toy.

Your catnip pillow is finished. Shake it up and present it to your kitty for endless hours of fun!
