Cheap Homemade Christmas Light Holder
I needed a cheap way to create a christmas light holder for some LED lights I got this year, so I came up with my own.
The holders in this instructable are very easy to make and cost about $2 to make four of them. They are relatively sturdy and can be customized to hold almost as many lights as you would like.
Gather Supplies
- Foam Board - $1.99 each
- You could also use wood or plexiglass but those are much more expensive.
- Utility Knife - About $5.00 if you don't have one
- Pen
- Ruler
Measure the Boards
First create a the outline of the shape by tracing a 10" by 12 1/4" rectangle on the board.
Measure the Boards
Create a parallel line 1 1/8" from the bottom of the board, and 2" long. From the end of this line draw a parallel line to the right side 2 1/2" long. Repeat until you get the pattern in the picture.
Cut Out the Body
The Finished Product
After you have cut out all the sections you should have a completed light holder. If you want you can cut knotches in the sides to hold the light plugs in place when you wrap them up.
You could double the holders up to make them thicker and even sturdier.
Merry Christmas!!
