Cheese Dress
Hello! I made this string cheese dress and I thought it looked pretty cool, so I will share it with everyone! :) I forgot to take pictures when making it but I drew out the step it took me (excuse my artistic ability). Thank you to anyone who is interested!
Supplies
-string cheese
-mannequin
-plastic wrap
-floss
-threader (threader should be as small as possible yet it should be able to fit the floss at the same time)
Protect the Mannequin
This part is optional but I wanted to avoid as much cheese touching my mannequin as possible but if you don't have any issues with this, you could skip it.
Splitting String Cheese
split string cheese to two, fourth, or perhaps even eighth. It doesn't have to be all the same sizes. different sizes actually can bring out more texture to the skirt! (The amount of time this step will be repeated is up to your judgement and how you want the skirt/dress to look like!!!)
Getting Ready for Sewing
get floss to go through threader and tie a knot
Sewing
poke and sew through the center of the pulled cheese you had done from step 2 with the threader and floss from step 3.
Continue Sewing
Repeat step 4 by adding more of the pulled cheese from step 2, one string can usually add up to around 6-7 (depending on the thickness of your pulled cheese from step 2). Then keep repeat step 4 and 5 until the amount of "cheese skirt" is up to your liking
Assembling
surround the cheese skirt to the mannequin's waist area and use the extra string from the floss to tie a knot in order to hold up the skirt. repeat this step until your dress that you envision slowly turns into shape.
Corset and Sleeves
shape your corset and your sleeves with either pulling, flatting, rolling the string cheese or any of those combinations combine.
Final Assemble
after assembling skirt from step 6 and making corset and sleeves from step 7, now it is to assemble them together. assemble corset and sleeves can be both done with extra sewing but I just press it against the mannequin body until it stick. Tada! it's finally done!
