Chocolate Oatmeal Heaps is a delicious snack worth the making. These little heaps are scrumptiously chocolaty and crunchy, though they're still really simple to make. You don't even need an oven! They're great for parties, holidays and almost just any time. Maybe you're thinking that you might need a scarce or costly ingredient, but no worries, these stuff are made from some of the most common ingredients. Also do not fear that they will go bad quickly, for they can stay quite a while in the refrigerator. You could even freeze them if you wanted.

So after telling you all this, what's still holding you back? Dive in and create this yummy heaps!

Ingredients:

  • 1000ml(4 Cups) Sugar
  • 250ml(1 Cup) Butter
  • 250ml(1 Cup) Cocoa
  • 250ml(1 Cup) Milk
  • 2ml(Pinch) Salt
  • 5ml(1 Tsp) Vanilla Essence
  • 1250ml(5 Cups) Oats
  • 750 ml(3 Cups) Fine Coconut

Add together the butter, sugar, cocoa, milk, and salt in a big microwave proof bowl with a volume of about 3.5 liter. Microwave on high for about 10 minutes, mixing regularly. When it starts to boils turn the power down about half percent. Microwave now for about 12 minutes more. The sauce has boiled long enough if when you drop a teaspoon of it into cold water it forms a soft ball.

Mix in the Rest.

Mix in the vanilla essence and then add the fine coconut and oats.

Tip: Do not take unnecessarily long, for it's harder to make the heaps in the next step if the mixture has dried.

Make the Heaps.

Lay about three trays with wax paper, then form little balls with your hands and press them on the tray to form the heaps.

Tip: Be Careful! The mixture will most likely be hot. ...And remember the drier the mixture the harder to make the heaps.

To the Refrigerator...

Now just put the tray into the refrigerator and take a break till the heaps are firm.

Pack Into Containers.

If your chocolaty heaps are firm you can start packing them neatly into your choice of containers. I used three ice-cream containers.

Bonus Tip: Make a Delicious muesli!

Musli_p1.jpg

You might have realized after making these heaps that there were quite a bit of crumbs left over. Well, instead of shoving it just away, why not make a delicious muesli? Just add some milk and wallah! You could also add some chocolate sauce, choc chips, etc. for an even more dangerous experience.
