Chocolate Rasin Crunch Balls to Relieve Stress
All this Covid stuff has been really depressing, and I've spent most of my time at home. It especially gets miserable when it's raining (which is often here) and you can't do ANYTHING but sit inside and watch the deck get wet. So I came up with an idea for these rainy day treats! They only take about 20 minutes (in total) to make, and they go perfectly with a nice cup of hot chocolate, cuddled in a blanket. This recipe makes about 20 servings.
I got the ideas for these from my uncle, who for christmas sent my family a box of Golden Grahams and craisins melted together with white chocolate. Since I didn't have any of those ingredients, I decided to try substituting them for semisweet chocolate chips, Chocolate Crunch Cereal, and raisins. Once I made them, I thought they'd look perfect with a few sprinkles. I'm really happy with the results, and my family loves them!! :)
So enough talking...let's actually get started!!
Supplies
What you will need for this treat:
-Semisweet chocolate chips
-Quaker Harvest Crunch's "Chocolate Crunch" cereal
-Sultana raisins
-Sprinkles
-Measuring cup
-Small-medium sized bowl
-Spoon
-2 plates
-1 knife
Pour 1 1/2 Cups of Chocolate Into a Bowl
Measure out 1 and 1/2 cups of your semisweet chocolate into your bowl
Melt Your Chocolate
Put your bowl of chocolate into the microwave for 60 minutes, then take it out. After 60 minutes there may still be a few lumps, so just stir them until the chocolate is smooth with no lumps.
Add Your Chocolate Cereal to the Bowl
Measure out 1 and 1/4 cups of your chocolate cereal, and pour it in with the chocolate. Mix everything together.
Add Your Raisins
Take 1 cup of raisins and pour them into the bowl. Mix everything together.
Make Balls From Your Mix, and Put Them Onto a Plate
Take about a tbsp of your mixture, and shape it (as best you can) into a ball with your hands, and put it on the plate. Do this until you've used up all the mix. There should be about 20 balls. Quickly move onto the next step.
Note: It's almost impossible to make perfect balls with this mix, so do the best you can.
Put Sprinkles on Your Chocolate Balls
Sprinkle your sprinkles lightly onto the chocolate balls while they are still gooey and haven't hardened yet.
Leave Your Chocolate Balls to Harden
Put your chocolate balls in a safe place, and let them harden: this should take 10-15 minutes.
Take Your Chocolate Balls Off the Plate
When they are hardened, take your chocolate balls out of the cupboard, and, using a butter knife, lift up the bottoms of each, so that they become unstuck from the plate.
Stack Your Chocolate Balls Nicely and Eat Them!
Now that your chocolate balls are done, stack them nicely, and eat them wrapped in a nice blanket with a warm cup of hot chocolate: it's amazing how relaxing is, and it's a great thing to do in these crazy times!
