Chotpoti Recipe at Home
Chotpoti is a bengali street food popular in Bangladesh and West Bengal, India, mostly in urban areas.
The word 'Chotpoti' translates to 'spicy'(as in, having many different spices, not simply hot).
It is usually served hot and tastes both spicy and sour at the same time. So, let's start....
Supplies
Ingredients
- Dubli -250g
- Potato -1pcs
- Onions -100g
- Chillies (Green chilli - 15g and Red chillie flake -1 tea spoon)
- Boiled Egg -1pcs
- Chotpoti masala -2 table spoon
- Salt -as taste
- Sugar-1 tea spoon
- Tarmarind chutney -150g (if you want more sour than add more as your taste)
- Coriender leaves -100g
- Cumin powder- 1 tea spoon
- Crispy Puri -8/10 pcs
Boiling
Here I have taken Dubli and soaked it overnight with enough water . If you don't have time, soak the dubli for at least three to four hours. But if you soak the dubli overnight, it takes less time to cook.
Take the dubli in a pot and add twice the amount of water. When dubli start to boil, add enough salt and potatoes.
After 15 minute in midum heat, it will be fully boiled. Before lowering, lift a dubli with your hand and understand whether the dubli is cooked or not.
Add and Mix
While still hot, remove from the stove and take the dubli in a bowl .Then one by one, add chopped egg, chopped onion, chopped coriander, chopped green chilli, cumin powder, sugar, Red chilli powder, Tarmarind chutney ,Chotpoti masala and mix it....
Serve
At the time of serving chotpoti, add boiled egg, chopped onion, chopped chilli, chopped coriander respectively.
Now it's ready to eat. Enjoy your evening with this recipe.........
