Cut Out a Large Square
Roll out your wrapping paper and cut out a square with sides of approximately 50-60cm in length. Fold it in half diagonally to help make the prefect square
Fold Halves Together
Fold the square in on itself to meet the fold made in the previous step
Fold the Top Down
Fold down the top portion so that it is level with the two pointed sides of the tie
Fold Point Back on Itself
Fold this point back on itself about two thirds of the way back to the top of the tie
Fold Back Again
Fold back again beyond the top of the tie
Shape the Knot
Fold to make creases on both corners and then fold the corners back on themselves along this crease
Tun Over and Fold in the Sides
Turn the tie over and fold both sides into the centre line. For a narrower tie, fold the paper over the centre line and secure with some tape.
Attach Elastic Cord
Cut a suitable length of elastic cord and secure to the top of the tie using staples or hot glue.
Decorate Your Tie
Complete your tie as you would your gifts, with some tags, bows, ribbons and anything else you fancy.
