Circuit Bent ODB Pedal

I had an old ODB pedal sitting around the house. I wanted to make a quirky distortion with touch points and viola, THIS PEDAL WAS BORN. O BAYBEE I LIKE IT RAWWWW

the main thing to look out for are 4 things when you break it open:

1)Phillips Screw Driver

2)Adjustable Mini Wrench

3)Wire Cutters

4)Soldering Iron

You will need to unscrew the bottom screws, the knobs of the pots, the in and outputs, and then the LD mount. Once done you can take out the board and cut the switch lugs.

Things to watch out for. REMEMBER TO GROUND THE OUTPUT. Then wire the switch lugs together. In the end, I ended up using a simple SPDT Switch for the on/off function. I ended up cutting the 9v battery for space and powering reasons. NOTE: I CIRCUIT BENT THIS WHILE CONNECTED TO A WALL WART BECAUSE I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING. ONLY MESS WITH WALL WART BENDING IF YOU KNOW HOW TO MANEUVER AROUND AND NOT BEND OF OFF DIRECT POWER LINES AND LUGS. THAT SHIT IS DANGEROUS

I made note of where the power leads to and marked off areas not to touch and bend.

Encasement

The usual deal, I modge podged the first draft which had a dope GUNDAM system on it, but alas that did not fit my encasement needs. I then created a VARITECH box utilizing and old radioshack plastic battery case.

look closely, all the bends in circles are connected to banana plugs so they could interact with some of my sequencers and other modules. the red dots are the spots where i put the touch points. feel free to experiment with it more. the schematic is online here if you want to get crazy with the cheese whiz. .

Wiring of Bends/Extension of Pots

I then added exstenstions and remounted the pots. note: i chopped them and did a point to point resolder job because I wanted more creativity with the look of bend. NOTE ON THINGS TO HAVE: Tube shrink or some kind of way to cover the solder leads on the pots, twist ties to organize, and crippling artist self doubt.

Point to Point Wiring

pretty self explanatory. BE ORGANIZED, BE CREATIVE, THINK ABOUT "WHAT IF I NEED TO SERVICE THIS LATER DOWN THE LINE? HOW CAN YOUR FUTURE SELF SAY 'THANK YOU' INSTEAD OF 'YOU SUCK A BAG OF ASSHOLES'? "

Who knows maybe you could sell it if its clean enough !

Wiring/Mounting of Touch Points

I used standard bolts bought at my local Kohls Hardware. At the end, I ended up wrapping paper on the circuit board. I can be a little paranoid about circuits arching/or contacting other points and messing up the circuit, so I try to be mindful and safe. YOU SHOULD TOOOOOO
