Clay 3D Printed Flower Pot

Hardware: Potterbot Micro

1. Using the symmetry tool, I drew a small flower.
2. I then copied the top layer and rotated 14 additional layers by a couple of cm, propagating each one.
3. Duplicating the latest layer, I decreased the scale by 0.7 cm and repeated step 2 with increased rotation
4. I repeated step 2 with the latest degree of rotation
5. Finally, I repeated step 3 using 10 layers, increased rotation and a 0.97 propagated scale.

I manually created a base by rolling out some clay and placing it on the bed. I then zeroed the potter, accounting for the base. When beginning, I raised the machine's z position using small steps so that the base layer would apply the clay on top of my base rather than carving into it. After this initial measure, the pot printed smoothly.

Once it was finished printing, I manually carved the excess base away.

I am happy with my artifact. I plan to throw it in the kiln and glaze it later. I also intend for this to be a small flower pot for the single flowers I buy from Trader Joe's.
