Cleaning the CCD Sensor on a Panasonic Lumix Point and Shoot Camera.

how to get dust and other foreign objects out of your lens and shots.

you'll need a very small Phillips screwdriver, and a t3 torx driver. some cameras may have different sized screws so a small bit kit would help. also going to want some lens wipes. if you are hard of seeing, these screws are tiny, go get your glasses and a light now.

take out the battery and SD cards

the two closest to the tripod mount are longer then the one closest to the edge of the camera.

take it out, put it aside. its the only black screw

these are the same on this side, just keep track of which screw's go on which side

you will notice two small tabs that clip the screen to the rest. using a small screwdriver, gently pop the top of the screen loose

using a small screwdriver, gently pop it off

make sure not to yank the ribbon cord out from the camera. the silver item with the 3 tiny torx screws needs to be undone. so take then out. be gentle, this is where you should be delicate. make sure to not drop the tiny screws or let them fall into a void on the camera

lift up the silver area gently to expose the CCD and the inside of the lens area. there are two small springs that easily fall out, so be careful. use your wipe and gently wipe the lens and the CCD..

once done, reverse disassembly to put it back together.

I usually have to do this every few months, I carry this lil things every day to have a better camera then my cell.

these Panasonic point and shoot cameras have incredible optical zoom and dust and hairs get sucked behind the lens easily when zooming. saves me money and keeps the camera fresh.
