Cleopatra Facepaint
Looking to dress up as Cleopatra for Halloween or a cosplay event? Look no further, because I am going to show you step by step how to recreate this look for yourself.
For this tutorial, we used Graftobian ProPaint in:
- Aztec Turquoise
- Catalina Blue
- Clockwork Copper
- Fuzzy Bear Brown
- Gilded Gold
- Pearl Frost
- Raven Black
- White Swan
Tools:
- chisel brush
- #1 round brush
- #2 round brush
- #6 round brush
- sponges
Gild With Gold...
Use Gilded Gold and a sponge to cover the entire face with a thin layer of facepaint.
Frost With Pearl...
Use Pearl Frost to overlay the gold base.
Paint the Eyes
Use Gilded Gold again, this time to sponge over the eyelids and around the eye area, then switch back to Frosted Pearl and overlay. We're going for a layered, shimmery effect here.
Once that's dry, outline the eyes with Aztec Turquoise and the #6 round brush.
Detail the Eyes
Go back to the Gilded Gold and use a wide chisel brush to overlay the turquoise outline. Let that dry, then use a #6 brush and the Catalina Blue to outline the eyes once more, then blend with a chisel brush.
Paint Egyptian Decorations
Now we're going to switch to our Raven Black paint with a #1 brush and draw the classic egyptian-style outline and decorations around the eyes. Feel free to be creative here, you don't have to follow exactly what we did.
Make the eyebrows bold and black, with a slight arch.
Once the black paint has dried, outline it again with the Gilded Gold.
Lip Color
Use a #6 round brush and Clockwork Copper to paint the lips.
Forehead Gem
Next we're going to add a crown to the forehead, starting with a turquoise gem.
We'll use the #6 round brush for these steps..
- Start with a simple circle in Aztec Turquoise
- Add shading with Catalina Blue
- Add a highlight with White Swan
Finish the Crown
Okay, now we're going to finish up the headpiece.
Again, we're going to use the #6 round brush for these steps.
- draw the headpiece with gilded gold
- outline with clockwork copper
- highlight with white swan
- add some shading with fuzzy bear brown
Finished!
Revel in your awesomeness.
