Coca Cola Bottle Night Light.

I decided to make an LED nightlight out of a round coke bottle.   I had this idea before I saw the other instructable by lambsb, but I noticed that he/she used a flashlight bulb instead of an LED, so I figured I'd go ahead with this.

What You Will Need

You will need:

*Round coke bottle
*Switch (I prefer the 1/2 inch push button)
*LED
*Resistor
*Button battery with case (small size)
*Soldering Iron and Solder (mine is taped together for this instructable)

**The cost of the materials was about $3.00 not including the coke bottle.   If you order the materials off of the internet, it will cost a  LOT less money.

Drill the Hole.

First you want to drill (or melt) a hole in the cap.  My switch is 1/2" so of course I drilled a 1/2" hole.

Insert the Switch

Now insert the switch into the hole.  Don't forget to attach the nut that comes with it.

Build the Circuit

Connect the positive side of the battery to one of the switch terminals (it doesnt matter which one). Connect the negative side of the battery to the negative (short) side of the LED. **NEVER solder directly onto a battery or it may explode!  Solder to the battery case WITHOUT the battery installed**

Connect the resistor to the other switch terminal and connect the other end of the resistor to the positive (long) side of the LED.

My photo isnt very good because I used scotch tape (I know better, but it wasnt permanent!)   I also didnt have the resistor connected.

Second photo shows a crude schematic.

Put It All Together

Now carefully guide your circuit into the bottle, screw on the cap and turn off the light and turn on your new night light!
