Coconut Shell Hanging Planter With Water Supply

Hi everyone, i made a coconut shell hanging planter with water supply for the indoor plants challenge.

Ok let's start......

Supplies

Coconut shell

Wooden pieces

Glue (flex kwik)

Cotton thread

Scissor

Scale

Pencil

Small size water bottle

Soil

Any type of small indoor plants

water

slice wooden pieces

crushed stones

Making of the Wooden Frame

Take 6 inch length of four wooden sticks.

Mark at 1.25 inch on both side of the wooden sticks

So the center space will be 3.5 inch. Mark on the all sticks. attach the wooden stick and apply

glue on it. So this will make a 3.5 inch size square frame.

Joining the Coconut Shell With the Wooden Frame

Now using the cotton thread, tie up all four sides of the wooden frame.

Place the coconut shell on the frame and mark on four side of the shell. Now make a small cutting line on

the shell. Place the frame on the shell from the bottom. adjust the shell to fix on the frame tightly.

Apply little drops of glue on the shell to make the fixing stronger.

Making the Hanging Structure

Take four pieces of cotton thread with double end. the length is depends on the height you choose.

Take a small piece of wood. tie up this four pieces of thread with the wood.

now insert the threads from inside of the coconut shell and pull the full length. apply some glue

on the wood piece inside the shell to make the joint stronger.

Final Steps for the Hanging Setup

After pulling the all threads, extend it to outside of the four corners of the wooden frame.

Apply some colors for the frame.

Making the Water Supply

Take the plastic bottle. Put the small stone on the bottle and fill the water.

take the hanging, join two sides separately and make a strong knots.

Above this knots place the bottle and tie up the threads on the both sides of the bottle.

Using needle make a small hole on the bottle. from this hole water will supplied drop by drop.

Final Steps for the Planter

Add the soil and some slice wooden pieces on the coconut shell. this wooden pieces keep the moisture for the little plants. now place the plant on the shell. Tie up the threads extended above the water bottle.

Remember that the hole on the water bottle always kept on top side. whenever you want to pour water just rotate the bottle and press slightly on the bottle to supply the water drop by drop.
