Coffee Bean Wall Art
I had the idea long time in the queue of using coffee beans for my wall art decorations.
Supplies
- Cardboard
- Coffee beans
- Acrylic paints
- Yellow
- Sunflower
- Orange
- Black
- Brown
- Antique gold paste
- Varnish
- Hot glue
- White glue
- Carbon paper
- Fine filler
- Sanding paper
- White gesso
- Brush
- Baking paper
Cardboard Base
Get the last remnants of the black friday shipments and cut two squares in the same size.
I've got 20cm x 20cm (8in x 8in).
Then glue them together with hot glue.
Finish on the Edges
I used simple fine filler got from the local DIY shop.
Use the fine filler on the edge to fill up the holes.
After it dries use the sanding paper.
Painting
As a primer use the white gesso, after it got dry put up all the yellow colors in different places unequally.
For the nice gradients mix the different colors in different ratio.
The Model
Use the carbon paper to copy the model to the painted and dry cardboard base.
Paint it black for the big contrast.
Coffee Beans
Hot glue the coffee beans.
It is a bit tricky to wait enough until it doesn't burn your hand, but remains sticky enough.
Steam
Use the hot glue on the baking paper to create the shapes of the steam.
The best if you create many-many of it and then choose the best you like.
When it is ready and cold, paint it black.
After the paint is dry use the white glue to put it on the wall art.
Endgame
Use the gold antique paste on the coffee beans and on the steam.
Put a layer of varnish on it.
Attach a holder at the back.
Put it on the wall.
Enjoy a hot cup of coffee!
