Coffee Cup Mug Sleeve Out of Used Cup

IMAG0217.JPG
I once had a plastic mug sleeve that would turn a coffee cup into a mug, but it was not portable enough and if I lost it I would have to buy a new one! I decided to recycle an old cup and make my own. Plus, for those of you who double cup, you can use this and cut your cup consumption in half!!

Supplies

Needed: -Paper cup from your favorite coffee shop, in your usual size.
                 -Tape
                 -Scissors

It is important that you use the right size, or it won't work right. You can make more than one and complete the set.

Cut It Up

Cut it about a centimeter (0.3 inches) from the top. Save this part.
Cut few centimeters (inch or two) from bottom. Keep the middle section.
Keep about 3/4 of the top section.

Fold the middle section and cut along one fold.

Rejoin Cut

Spread apart the cut you made by about 3 mm (1/4 inch) and tape it on both sides.

The Handle

Now you have to make a handle. You may have figured this out, but the top section is the handle. fold a 1 cm (0.3 inches) on both sides and taper them to the inside of the cup so the middle is on the outside of the cup. Don't tape it on a fold, or you won't be able to put it in your pocket.

The pattern of the mouseover notes on the picture should tell you how to tape it.

Slide It on and Enjoy!

Put this on your cup of coffee and you have magically transformed your regular paper cup into a mug! Plus it's cheap and easy to make!
