Cold Weather Home Made Suet
There are lots of recipes for homemade suet out there. I used the one from The Audubon Society. (mostly, I didn’t follow it exactly!)

This recipe for homemade suet is great for winter. In temperatures above 50 degrees Fahrenheit is could spoil before the birds finish it.

Getting Started
Start by melting the lard and the peanut butter on medium low heat. Do not boil.
Mix the Dry Ingredients
While the lard and peanut butter are melting, mix together the dry ingredients in a separate bowl.
I just used my hands to mix everything together.
To crush the mealworms, I put them in a sandwich bag and crushed them with my hands.

Fill Your Molds
I used suet pans I saved from store bought suet. I added plastic wrap before filling so it was easy to remove. Any type container like this will work including ice cube trays.
