Color Stripe Hand Warmers

DSC_1018.JPG

This is an item of clothing which can also be made from left over fabric.

Initially I was making a lot of fleece Hand puppets and had a lot of left over material in the process so I decided to make something out of it .

If you like this Instructable I have also some projects on Facebook and Etsy .

You will need :

three thread spools

a Hand Scissor to cut fabric with

a piece of paper big enough to trace your arm on it

Pieces of fleece

Cut the Strips

You don't really need to measure when cutting the strips but try to make them the same width.

Sewing the Stripes Together

DSC_1005 (2).JPG

Now is the time to sew the stripes together.

Place one stripe on top of another and sew on the serger.

Repeat this until the size of the fabric reaches the desired size

Make the Pattern

We need a pattern for cutting the fabric the same size for both hands ....so take a piece of paper and trace the contour of your hand and arm on it.

Decide how long your hand warmers will be and cut the paper accordingly.

Cut on the contour line.

Cut the Fabric

Fold your fabric in two and place the pattern over the fabric. Trace with chalk.

Leave about 2 cm of fabric around the pattern when tracing

Cut the fabric on the line you marked.

Final Sewing

DSC_1010 (2).JPG

Take the pieces of fabric two by two and sew the outline on the serger sewing machine.

Also divide the hole for the thumb from the hand of the hand by sewing a half centimeter between them..
