Contest Winning Paper Airplane

Are you bored? Do you need to decompress? Do you crave victory over your peers? If you said yes to any of the following questions then you are in the right place! In this instruct-able you we will be practicing the therapeutic art of paper aircraft folding to create a competition grade paper airplane.

Supplies

  • Standard 9-1/2" x 11" copy paper (I'd recommend more than one sheet).
  • Double sided tape.
  • A flat surface.

Fold Lengthwise

Fold the sheet of paper in half lengthwise (hot-dog style).

Fold the Corners In.

Fold the corners of the paper into the center line of the paper.

Fold Peak Down

Fold the peak of the paper down until the tip is 3/4" from the bottom of the sheet.

Fold Corners Down Again

Fold the corners of the paper towards the center-line of the page one more time.

Fold Up Excess Tip

Fold overhanging tip up over previously folded flaps.

Flip and Fold in Half

Flip paper over and fold airplane in half so that pockets are visible from the outside.

Fold Wing Down

Fold wings down about 1" from the bottom crease.

Unfold Edges

Unfold edges of plane such that the wings are perpendicular to the airplane body and place two sided tape on inner body edge.

Fold Body Together

Fold previously taped body together to keep plane together.
