This unusual, very bright and such beautiful cookies with peach halves and lemon glaze will surely please your children and delight everyone around you!

The great thing, apart from the unusual appearance, is that the cookies are actually very simple. My three-year-old managed almost on his own. Although, of course, with my help.

These cookies are perfect for keeping kids interested in cooking, captivating them and introducing them to a new culinary world. An extremely useful skill for life.

My young assistant tried sparing no effort and the result, in my opinion, turned out to be amazing: the guests are delighted, the son is happy, we are a little tired, but very satisfied!

What Do We Need:

You need to prepare well, we worked in a team of two people (me and my son, he will be 4 years old at the new year), so one of the important points, of course, was the uniform :) We have cute family aprons with foxes.

We also need for the test: 100 g of butter, 80 g of sugar, 1 egg, 1 glass of milk, 250 g flour, 1 can (800g) canned peach halves.

You can safely take apricots, they are smaller, then you will get more cookies, because the dough bases can be made smaller in size.

To prepare the glaze, take 120 g of powdered sugar, 2-3 tbsp. lemon juice. An important clarification here: in order to evenly cover all our large cookies with a beautiful white glaze, we made the glaze three times, so I immediately recommend that you take a triple the number of goods. It turns out incredibly beautiful and unreal sweet.

Very Important Baking Step

Sift flour well through a sieve, for baking this is a very important process. Flour is saturated with oxygen, becomes more airy and this allows us to bring our cookies one step closer to a masterpiece :)

Make a Sweet Butter

Beat the soften butter and sugar using a blender or mixer.

Add the Liquid Parts of the Dough

Add an egg and milk to our beaten mixture. Continue mixing until smooth.

The Last Step of Dough Making

Gently spread the sifted flour into the egg-butter mixture. Beat for some more time, as a result we get a soft dough. In the next step, its consistency is clearly visible.

Making the Shape of the Cookies

Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Cover the baking sheet with parchment, carefully pour small pancakes for our cookies with a large spoon. We got them about 8 to 12 cm in diameter.

If you end up with a thicker dough, don't worry. nothing wrong. It can be rolled out on a lightly floured table, not very thick (up to 5 mm) and cut out the same circles. Choose the diameter depending on the size of your peaches or apricots (larger or smaller, respectively). Between the cookies, it is better to leave more space on the baking sheet so that they do not stick together. We did just that, they stuck together a little, but in general it absolutely did not interfere.

Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes. Small cookies take less time.

Glaze Preparation

While the cookies are baking in the oven, we made the glaze.

To do this, in a small blender bowl, we turned sugar into powdered sugar. The same can be done in a coffee grinder. Or immediately use ready-made powdered sugar (but you really need a lot of it). Then add a little lemon juice to the powdered sugar, whipping with a blender or mixer. It is important to take into account that while the glaze is standing, it gradually thickens, so you do not need to do it much in advance, otherwise you will need even more.

Let's Try to Dry Your Peaches

The peach or apricot halves should be laid out on paper towels to dry. If you are cooking with assistants, like me, then you should take into account the number of halves and increase them in advance, because you can't do without a sample :) In the photos you just see this delicious process. It's so cute that I decided to share it: )

Cool the Cookies

DSCF6925.jpg

We take out the received cookies. Leave them on a baking sheet for 10 minutes, then put them on a wire rack and cool completely.

Cover With Glaze

Place parchment under the wire rack with the cookies, because during the application of the glaze, it will drip a little. Spoon the glaze gently onto each cookie.

Wait a bit for it to freeze.

Add the Sweet 'yolks' to the 'eggs'

Don't Neglect Serving

You can experiment with serving, it's a lot of fun.

Our fried eggs look perfect when served in a frying pan, like real ones. We sprinkled cinnamon on the cookie, it looks like pepper and spices. You can decorate with greens (fresh mint is perfect), we experimented with parsley, it looks great, it is not necessary to eat together :)

A sausage was added as a joke for the guests. There was no limit to the delight and surprise.

Tasting Time

And, of course, the most important part of our culinary trip is tasting it.

If you didn't know, happiness looks like this :)

Bon appetit to you and your loved ones! Create together, this allows us to get to know each other from different sides and be even closer! Inspiration to you!
