Cork Board Scrabble Coasters

When following these instructions, users will be able to create about 6 4x4 scrabble piece coasters.

Materials:

-100 Scrabble tiles

-1 16 fl oz Modge podge bottle (shiny or matte depending on preference)

-Cork board (6in x 6in cork board 4 Pack)

-1 Pair of Scissors

-1 Paint brush

Optional Materials:

-E-6000 glue (for tighter hold)

-Exacto-knife (for closer cut)

Select four 4-letter words from scrabble pieces.

Optional: Refer to Step 10 for possible word combinations.

Lay 16 scrabble pieces in a 4x4 formation on the cork board.

Trace the outline of the letters to aid in cutting out a square from cork board.

Cut out cork board square with scissors or Exacto-knife. A little overhang of the scrabble tiles is perfectly fine.

(Tip: Exacto-knife will work better than scissors if available)

Glue down all pieces in desired letter pattern on cork board using E-6000 glue or Modge Podge. If any piece doesn’t stay glued down reapply a small amount of glue or Modge Podge.

Tip: Make sure to shake modge podge before using

Tip: Make sure to apply pressure when placing pieces onto glue

While the Modge Podge dries for around 5 minutes, apply pressure to the top of pieces to provide tighter hold.

Apply thin, even coat of Modge Podge using a paint brush to the top and sides of cork board and scrabble pieces. After applying to the sides make sure to smooth the top again to remove clumps.

Wait for Modge Podge to dry for at least 15 minutes before using product.

(The thicker the Modge Podge is applied, the longer drying time will be.)
