Cottage Cheese Croissant (shaped) Rolls
Need some appetizer ideas for a party. This recipe is perfect for a party. Kids will love it. This could be an easy party snack idea and kids will be super excited to have it. The stuffing is flexible so you can experiment it with your favorite topping. I have shaped it like a croissant and baked it.
Ingredients
Serves - 15
Preparation Time - 1.5 Hours
For the Dough:
All purpose flour - 1.5 cup
Milk - 1/2 cup
olive oil 1/8 cup
Salt1 tsp
Sugar1 & 1/2 tsp
Active dry yeast1 tblsp
Filling:
Cottage cheese (grated) - 1 Cup
Pepper Powder - 1 Tsp
Tomato Sauce - 1 Tbsp
Salt - as required
Oregano - 1 Tbsp
Tools Required:
Oven
Heat Milk
Heat milk until lukewarm,dissolve sugar and yeast.
Let it rest for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes the mixture would have been raised to frothy which proves that the yeast is active.
Knead
Take flour in a large bowl. Add salt, oil and the yeast mixture.
Knead it till a smooth pliable dough is obtained.
Adjust the level of water till a soft dough is obtained The dough should be smooth and pliable.
Cover the kneaded dough with damp cloth. Let it rest for 1 hour.
After an hour the dough should have been raised. Knead again to make it smooth.
Filling
Mix together the cottage cheese, tomato sauce, pepper powder, oregano and salt.
Roll
Dust the work area. Divide the dough into two and roll it with the rolling pin to a smooth circle.
With a knife cut it into triangles by drawing lines along the diameter.
Place Filling
Fill the triangle with the filling at the edge (longer side). Start rolling towards the pointed side.
Brush
Brush milk on the outer side for browning effect.
Bake
Grease the Baking dish with butter. Preheat the oven to 180 degree Celsius for 10 minutes.
Bake the croissants for 10 minutes till they are golden brown.
Keep checking the base time to time. The rolls are ready.
Serve them as an appetizer.
