Cozy Coupe Redo

I was taking a load of junk to the recycle center and as went to toss my 4 year old daughters disgusting cozy coup push car in with my load, that had sat out in the weather for 2 years, she threw a fit so I decided to make a project out of it for her and I.

I didn't get a picture of the car before we started tearing it apart. After we removed the bolts and screws and took it apart we gave it a good spray down. It was no longer totally covered in grime, leaves and slugs but it was still pretty disgusting

This step took about 2 hours of scrubbing with the help of my little assistant. It probably would have been much quicker and dryer to do it on my own but not as much fun. While all of the parts were drying, we headed to Walmart for supplies. We used Rust-Oleum primer for plastic spray paint, Kryon indoor outdoor spray paint and a Kryon clear finish. We also picked up a couple sheets of $.99 wall decals.

This was my first experience using spray paint and I was so excited how easy it was. With my little assistant at my side in her safety glasses, we laid the parts out and sprayed on the primer. After the primer was dry we painted the rest of the pieces in either pink or purple.

After letting the paint completely dry overnight we put the car back together, added our wall decals, using a little clear glue to help them stick, then added a clear spray coat over the body of the car. Unfortunately, my 4 year old is a little to big for the car but she was pleased to give her little sister a spin around the house.
