CRAFTING AN "Inspo" BOARD

Sometimes inspo is hard to come by….

Inspo is everywhere. A rule of thumb, just do it, whatever it is you do! On the daily!

This past week we took some photos of industrial designers creating a pin-up-board (PUB) from scratch as a way to inspire the in-house designers to pin up their sketches and to sketch more !!

The entire board was made from plywood and cork tiles!!! Easy enough to do at home.

The hardest part is getting the board to hang from the wall. Make sure to find the beam and drill into it accordingly.

See for yourself below. The list of materials :

• Cork
• Plywood
• Glue
• Clamps
• Power Drill
• Sand Paper
• Nails

We glued cut up pieces of plywood to mount onto the back of the board we used so we could use them as support when we drilled the board onto the wall (see next step).

Before glueing pieces together, we measured our dimensions.

You can see the penciled in outline we drew on the back of the board for guidance.

How awesome are clamps ?!

We used clamps to help us keep our backing in tact and putting pressure when applying the glue!

See for yourself. Super easy and efficient.

Don't forget to glue the cork on the other side of the board.

This was probably the most fun part...

We made sure that the edges of the board were smooth.

The sanding power tool OR sand paper are all you need!

Now, that we've got the board in tact...

Lets hang it!
