Creative Switch - Light Up Christmas Stapler
I have decorated a stapler to fit the Christmas theme!
Whenever you press the stapler down to staple your papers together the lights glow.
Supplies
- 1 Stapler
- 3 LED Lights
- 1 Coin Battery
- Copper Tape
- 1 Paper Santa
- 1 Paper Garland
- 1 Paper Circle
Placing the Coin Battery
- Situate the coin battery in between of the stapler with the positive side facing upwards.
- Attach one end of a piece of copper tape on top of the positive side of the coin battery
- Attach the other end up to the beginning of the crimp area
- Attach a piece of copper tape on top where the stapler would come out of
- Cut out a circular piece of paper to cover the top of the coin battery
- Tape the paper on top of the coin battery
Setting Up the Negative Side
- Attach copper tape underneath the coin battery on the negative side
- Connect the copper tape underneath the stapler all the way to the end
- Connect more copper tape to lead upwards onto the handle
- Make a line of copper tape running through the whole top side
Setting Up the Positive Side
- Connect a piece of copper tape to the copper tape that is underneath the top part
- Attach a piece of copper tape along the whole side
Attaching the Lights
- Split a light with the anode(long) facing the positive side and cathode(short) facing the negative side
- Use 2 pieces of copper tape to connect to each end of their appropriate energy charges
- Do this 3 times for 3 lights across the top of the stapler
Decoration
- Draw, color and cut out Santa on a sleigh
- Attach with clear tape on the positive side to cover the cover tape
- Place the drawing onto the tape
- Draw, color and cut out a string of garland
- Use this to cover the negative side of the copper tape
