Crochet Scarf
This is a crochet scarf that I made as a gift for a friend. It is a fairly easy project that you should be able to complete if you are new to crochet. When I finished the scarf, I decided to make it into an infinity scarf as it suits the style of my friend more. You can do this as well, or leave it as a long scarf to wrap around your neck. Happy crocheting!
Supplies
You will need:
-A crochet hook, preferably around 5mm or 5.5m. I used a 5.5 mm hook.
-A darning needle
-Any color worsted weight yarn. I used ombre colored yarn. This project took me one skein of ombre yarn from Walmart.
-A measuring tape
-Scissors
The first step will be to chain 32.
Next, in the third chain from the hook, start half double crocheting (hdc) along the chain until you reach the end. You should have 30 stitches when you reach the end. Once you finish your last hdc, chain 2.
Turn your work, and repeat step 2. you will continue to do this until you reach your desired scarf length. Tie off and cut your ends when you reach your desired length.
(Optional) If you are choosing to make the Infinity Scarf Version, repeat step two until your work is about 60 inches long. Same as before, tie off and cut your ends when you reach this length. Then, fold your work in half like a hot dog, longways as shown in the picture. Line up the ends to get ready to sew them together.
Get your darning needle ready by putting your yarn through the needle. Again, make sure your edges are matched up together, and that there aren't any twists in the scarf. To start sewing, insert the needle through all four layers of the scarf as shown in the picture. Continue sewing until you reach the end, and make sure it is secure. Once you have it secure, you can tie your ends and cut off. Weave in your ends. You will then have a finished infinity scarf! :)
