Custom 3D Printed Jack O' Lantern
I will teach you how to make any custom image into a spooookkkyy Jack O' Lantern!
Have you ever seen those amazing designs on your neighbors' pumpkins? Well now, you can beat them with ANY design you desire.
Materials
You will need
- Pumpkin
- Candle/ Light Emitting Object
- Ruler
- Pumpkin Carver
- Marker
- String
- Any image that you want on your pumpkin
IMPORTANT: You need a 3D Printer for this project, any color filament should work.
Download Application
In order to do this project, you will need an application that will convert your image to a 3D printable image.

Open Your Image
You might need to change the language:
Go to: Iniciar
Hover over: Idioma
Select: English
Now simply open your image!
Generate your 3D file and save it.
Making the File
- Go to 3D STL
- Input a height and width that will fit into your pumpkin
- Generate the 3D image
- Download your STL
Now put your file into your printer software (I'm using Cura for this part)
Make sure the height of your model is at least 4 millimeters.
Now you can Print!
Cutting the Pumpkin
Measure the dimensions of your object with a ruler onto a string.
The string allows you to measure your object accordingly on a curved surface.
Mark the pumpkin!
Marking Pumpkin
Complete all 4 corners!
Cutting Pumpkin
Cut the top of the pumpkin with your carver!
Empty Out the Pumpkin
Empty out all the seeds and guts of your pumpkin.
Bonus: You can create some pumpkin seeds with this recipe
Cut the Four Corners of Your Pumpkin
Cut the corners carefully!
Insert Your Image!
Place the image into your newly cut out pumpkin.
Note: You may need to adjust the canvas you cut accordingly to fit your image.
Place the Candle Inside
Grab a lighter (With adult supervision if needed!)
Simply place the candle/ light up device in your pumpkin carefully, on a flat surface.
Ignite the candle!
ENJOY!
You now have an awesome custom-made Jack O' Lantern! Prepare to amaze people on October 31st!
