Cute Flower Decoration Made From Scraps
Today I made a flower decoration out of scraps from my scrap drawer. It's simple but perfect for the home of a craftsperson.
Supplies
For this I used.
- Scraps
- Paint markers
- Hot glue gun
- Scissors
- Carboard
Cardboard
First things first you need to make your base. The size depends on how big you want it to be. I recommend cutting it into a circle but you can do any shape.
Sketch
Now, sketch out a flower design in the middle of the cardboard. Make sure to add little leaves and vines coming out of the side of the flower!
Layout
Next, lay out all of your scraps in the sketch so you know where to glue them on and so you know they fit. The real technique to this is making sure that there is only very small gaps between each piece of scrap. This gives it a more full look and makes it easier to color later on.
Glue
Now slowly, one by one, glue down the pieces of scraps where you set them. Once again, make sure there are not really big gaps between scrap pieces.
Color
Once you are done gluing grab your paint markers. Pick one color per flower so they are all different. I chose pink, blue, and purple. Carefully color on top of the scraps so it looks more like flowers. Make sure to draw some leaves and vines as well. Also, don't forget the yellow middle of the flowers!
Hang Up!
Once all of the paint dries you are done and it's ready to be shown off! Thank you for reading through and make sure to try this fun craft decoration hack out for yourself! :)
