The idea is a small desktop industrial Pick 'n Place/Assembly type robot that you print the parts yourself, buy a dozen hobby servo motors, a controller and software ... then easily assemble the D.A.I.R. kit and program it for various functions.

Even an 8-year old child can program the D.A.I.R. Kit for new functions using the easy PC software graphical interface.  The D.A.I.R. Kit may even be a useful tool for launching a future career ... learn how to program this D.A.I.R. to be ready for your future job ... programming robots in manufacturing factories.

I have several different designs ... and having one D.A.I.R. kit built 'n programmed for one simple task and since the motors are strong than I thought they would be I hope to start printing a new and improved D.A.I.R. parts soon and reassemble the D.A.I.R. into an even stronger and sturdier robot than originally tasked.

My initial planning when designing the D.A.I.R. Kit;

Add another arm bone and give the arm another Degree of Freedom for even more complex operations.
