DIY 3D PRINTED PORTABLE BLUETOOTH SPEAKERS

Hi everyone, this is my very first Instructables. I decided to make it simple. So in this instructable, I will show you guys how I made this really simple and cheap Bluetooth speaker which everyone could make easily.

The body of the speaker is 3D printed using a TEVO Tarantula 3D printer. The remaining components were all bought through AliExpress.

This is a 12-watt Bluetooth speaker with 2 neodymium drivers and 1 piezoelectric tweeter. It also has dual rear-facing passive radiators. The speaker is powered by a 5000mah 18650 battery pack. I decided to do it in white because it's my favorite color.

The enclosure of the speaker was designed in fusion 360 according to the components I bought from Aliexpress. I have attached the 3D file as well.

I printed the enclosure at 60% infill and 0.8mm wall thickness. The Zip folder attached here contains 3 STL 3D models all of which has to be printed.

COVERING THE FRONT PANEL WITH VINYL

1. Cut out a piece of vinyl that is roughly the length and breadth of the front panel.

2. Stick the vinyl on to the front panel and trim off the excess around the panel using scissors.

3. Using a razor blade neatly cut out the holes for the speaker as seen in the picture.

1. Cut a long strip of vinyl that is 1cm wider than the box and has enough length to cover the whole box.

2. Start applying the vinyl from the bottom of the box.

3. Cut the extra vinyl from the edges using scissors.

4. Cut out the holes for the switch and the tweeters.

5. Cut another piece of vinyl with the size similar to the one cut to the front panel and use that piece to cover the back piece of the speaker.

6. Cut the openings for the passive radiators neatly using a razor blade.

7. Also, cut off the vinyl covering the socket of a charging module

8. Cover the battery cover with the vinyl as well and cut the necessary holes using a razor blade and safety pins.

1. Place the rubber foot where you want it to be.

2. Mark using a pencil.

3. Cut the vinyl lying inside the marked area and peel it off.

4. Apply glue on the rubber foot and stick it in the right orientation.

1. Attach the speakers and passive radiators as shown in the pictures using M3 nuts and bolts.

2. Cover the circumference of the tweeter with the masking tape so that it fits tightly into its hole on the 3D printed enclosure

3. Pull the wire of the tweeter inside through the provided hole and push in the tweeter.

The grills come as two parts-the ring and the mesh. First attach the ring using glue and then attach the mesh with glue as well

1.Use hot glue gun to cover the gaps between the speakers/passive radiators and the enclosure

2. Also apply hot glue in areas where wires are going out of the enclosure like for the tweeters or charging module

THE CIRCUIT

The circuit is really simple. Everything is marked on the amplifier and speakers clearly . Just connect the +ve of the speaker to the +ve of the amplifier and similarly do it with the -ve terminals too.Connect the batteries in the same way but with a switch in between.

1. 2 18650 batteries are connected in parallel

2. The circuit is glued on to the space provided between the speakers

3. The switch is screwed on.

4. The wires are soldered according to the circuit diagram

1.Using double sided tape make slots for each LED so that light doesn't escape through the wrong hole

2. Attach a push button to the battery cover

3. Place the module inside the slot on the left corner.

4. Stick the battery cover using super glue.
