DIY 3D Paper Snowflake

Through following a few easy steps and using simple materials, you will be able to make your own beautiful 3D paper snowflake!

• Paper in a color or pattern of your choosing
• Scissors
• Pencil
• Ruler
• Glue
• Fishing line or thin string if snowflake is to be hung

Using a ruler to evenly measure the lengths, cut out six squares of paper that are identical in size. These are four-inch papers, but the size can be altered depending on your desired size of snowflake.

Fold square in half diagonally. Then, fold the resulting triangle in half diagonally.

As evenly as possible, cut three slits into the triangle, starting on the SMALL FOLDED SIDE. Cut toward the opposite small side and stop the cut just before reaching the other side. DO NOT cut toward the long side of the triangle.

CAREFULLY open the triangle, as it may be prone to tearing.

Glue the small inner flaps together. A pencil may be helpful in this step if the flaps are too small to hold, but isn't mandatory.

Flip the square over and glue the second flaps together on the opposite side.

Flip the paper over again and glue the third flaps on the other side. Flip once again and glue the fourth and final flaps on the other side. This is now one finished arm of the snowflake.

Repeat the previous steps with the five other squares to make each individual snowflake arm.

Secure arms with glue where they touch, as shown in the photos.

Repeat the previous step until all arms are glued together, making a complete snowflake.

Secure fishing line or thin string to one arm of the completed snowflake and display wherever you like.
