DIY BioSpeaker
Speakers may be too expensive or you may care for it too much, but if you search any DIY Speakers they don't look so appealing and may even not be environmentally friendly. Due to this reasons I decided to create a DIY Speaker which is:
- Environmentally friendly
- and Easy to Make
It took many designs to finally get to the final product of this project and I hope it works for you just like it works for me! There is also NO need for glue or any adhesives!
Grab Your Materials!
For this project you will need:
- 3 or more pieces of at least 45cm by 45cm Cardboard
- Scissors or an Exacto Knife
- A Ruler
- Protractor
- Pencil or Sharpie
Tracing and Measuring
Trace the measurements with your pencil or sharpie into the cardboard as shown in the pictures (The first two pictures are from the same design, but zoomed in two see all the measurments)
*Note The cutout is symmetrical so all measurements are equal on the opposite sides
Cutting Your Pieces!
Start cutting each piece over their respective black lines while slightly cutting into the dashed lines so you can fold the pieces easily.
Folding and Forming!
Start folding the pieces so they resemble the ones in the picture just to get a feel on how they look like. JUST FOLDING
Once your pieces resemble the 3 pieces in the picture, we will be giving each piece a name:
- The Speaker Box
- The Funnel
- The Phone Carrier
Forming the Box
Fold the box and insert the small flaps into the big flaps with a hole in them as shown in the picture, but only do so for the top and sides of the box, not the bottom.
At the end your box should resemble the one in the second picture!
Phone Carrier + Speaker Box
Fold the phone carrier and insert it into the 2 cm by 8 cm hole of the large box, in a slight angle as shown in the picture. The bottom hole of the phone carrier should be facing the opening of the box.
Finishing Up the Box
Fold in the bottom side of the box and insert the flaps. Be careful with the phone carrier since it may wiggle out of place a slight bit.
Completeing the Project
Fold the funnel and insert it into the box, with the hole proportional to the 2 cm by 8 cm hole in the phone carrier.
Put your phone inside and look that the speaker of the phone is seen through the hole
Test It Out!
Test out the your DIY BioSpeaker
*Note this speaker amplifies the sound of your phone, but mostly on the direction that the speaker is pointing at since the sound waves are being redirected to that point
