DIY Clay Rings!

Hi everyone! Today I will be talking you though how I made these cute trendy clay rings. I made these a few weeks ago and have loved wearing them as a statement piece with some of my outfits. This craft is a little more expensive since you do need to purchase you choice of clay and glaze. It also takes a longer and is a bit more challenging due to the shaping. I hope you enjoy!

• Ring Size Cylinder

1. For this ring I started with a ball of yellow clay.
2. I rolled this ball into a thin snake and flattened it so the ring would be flat and a little thick.
3. I then got cylinder the size I wanted my ring to be. You can find the right size by taking a ring you already have and finding a cylinder you can put it over without having much room to move. I used chapstick.
4. Then, I wrapped a piece of parchment paper around the cylinder so it wouldn't get ruined by the clay and taped it down.
5. I wrapped my flattened snake around the cylinder and smoothed the ends together.
6. I then made a little ball out of my yellow clay and flattened it slightly. I shaped it so it would look like a Smartie.
7. This circle will be my face so I took it and blended it onto the ring around my cylinder.
8. After I blended it, I drew in the smiley face I wanted.
9. I carefully removed the ring from the cylinder and placed it on a tray on top of some parchment paper.
10. I baked this in the oven for the determined time said on the packaging.
11. After it was baked I hung it from string and glazed it on all sides.

1. For this ring I started with a ball of orange clay.
2. I rolled this ball into a snake that was thinker towards the middle and thinner towards the end.
3. I then got cylinder the size I wanted my ring to be. You can find the right size by taking a ring you already have and finding a cylinder you can put it over without having much room to move. I used chapstick.
4. Then, I wrapped a piece of parchment paper around the cylinder so it wouldn't get ruined by the clay and taped it down.
5. I wrapped my snake around the cylinder and smoothed the ends together.
6. I carefully removed the ring from the cylinder and placed it on a tray on top of some parchment paper.
7. I baked this in the oven for the determined time said on the packaging.
8. After it was baked I hung it from string and glazed it on all sides.

3. After flattening it, I used a plastic straw to cut circles into the flattened snake.
4. Then I smoothed out the edges so the ring appeared more circular.

6. Then, I wrapped a piece of parchment paper around the cylinder so it wouldn't get ruined by the clay and taped it down.
