DIY Corner Clamp

This is a Do IT Yourself Corner Clamp. As the name suggest it is made specifically for right angled corners. Where my design stands out is its ease to use, simplicity, and overall size.

No longer will you have to use big cumbersome clamps or straps to hold down your shelves when they break, now you can make your own clamp with a screw, a nut, and a little help from a 3D printer.

Supplies

4 inch 3/8" hex screw

3/8" hex nut

3D printer or access to 3D printer for the Gauge Pod

Print the Base Assembly

I used a Tronxy X1 printer. The bed side is 150mmx150mm minimum for this print. I used tree supports I found them easier to remove when finished 3D printing. You will want check your print to be sure it is coming out correctly. When finished you may also want to file out the hole to give it a bit more clearance for the screw.

Print Connect

Ensure there is enough clearance in the areas where the base and connect piece interact. However, you want the hole to be exactly .38 inches you want it to be a tight fit between the connect and the screw

Print Brace

I would again ensure the is enough clearance between this part and the connect

Assemble Parts

Place connect in pathway of the base, fit the brace inside the connect, ensure the nut is in the gap before the pathway of the base before inserting the screw through the hole and attaching to the connect assembly. And from there you should have a functioning DIY corner clamp

Test It Out
