DIY Crochet Hanging Plant

I've always wanted to have a plant because of how cute they looked, but they always end up dying the next week, no matter how hard I try to keep them alive and healthy. Luckily, I found a way to solve this problem. Crochet. With a crochet plant, you don't ever have to worry about your plant dying or making a mess ever again! It looks way cuter, is more convenient for many people (including me), and is super easy to make, so lets get started.

Level:Beginner+

For this project, you will need...

A Crochet hook (the size depends on the yarn you're using)

Brown yarn (2 different shades)

Green yarn

White yarn (or any color, this is for the hanging feature)

Scissors

Yarn needle

Stitch marker

Stuffing

Super Glue

Note-There are NO Single Crochet stitches in the flowerpot, only Double Crochet stitches.

There is, however, Single Crochet stitches in the dirt.

The Flowerpot-

Start off by crocheting 6 DC in a magic circle with brown yarn.

RND 2: 6 inc

RND 3: 12 Inc

RND 4: 24 Inc

SS into the next stitch.

RND 6-10: 48 DC. At the end, slip stitch into the first stitch.

When you are done with round 6, your work should begin to curve upward.

You do not need to go all the way to round eleven. If you want a small flowerpot, stop at round seven. If you want a medium size flowerpot, stop at round eight.

Cut the yarn and leave a three inch yarn tail. Sew the yarn tail into the inside of the flowerpot.

Use the color that you want to use for the dirt for the next steps.

Make a magic ring with 6 SC.

RND 2: 6 Inc

RND 3: 2 SC, 1 Inc

RND 4: 3 SC, 1 Inc

RND 5: 4 SC, 1 Inc

Cut and sew off the yarn.

Sew the dirt disk onto the flowerpot.

Before you complete sewing, stuff the flowerpot.

Make a slip knot with your green yarn and chain two.

Make a bubble stitch in the first chain.

Chain three and do another bubble stitch in the second chain from your hook. Repeat until you reach your desired length, which is about 13 bubbles.

Make 10 more of these chained bubble strings with the lengths varying in size. There should be a total of eleven.

Tie the strings of bubbles together at one end.

Cut the bottom strings and top strings, but leave one of the top strings long.

Sew the group of bubble strings into the middle of the flowerpot.

Make a slipknot and chain 14 (With white yarn).

Slip stitch into the first chain to make a circle.

Chain 17 then slip stitch into the 3rd chain away from the chain in your circle.

Chain 17 and repeat this process 3 more times.

Then, cut and tie off your string.

Count five chains on one of your loops then insert your hook on the 5th chain. Pull yarn through that 5th chain and chain 5.

Chain 12 more and slip stitch your yarn into the fifth chain on the next loop. Tie off and repeat for all the other loops. Don't worry about all the extra ends. We'll sew those in at the end.

Count the 6th chain of the new hoop and make 27 chains, then slip stitch into the next 6th chain. Repeat. Only do this step if you made the full size flowerpot. Skip it if you made a medium or small flowerpot.

Super glue the ends to secure them.

Make a chain of 100 at what seems to be the middle of each of the four biggest loops.

Put the plant on top of the web and pull the four long chains up. Tie them at the top. You're Done!
