DIY Dog Nametag
One afternoon, I was strolling on a pet store, and found a dog nametag. I wanted the it, but when I found out that it cost a little expensive, I thought, "Why not make it myself?"
So, without further ado, let's get started!
Supplies
3D printer and filament (any color you like)
Small keychain rings and keychain hook
Scrapper
Sketch the Nametag
First, search "dog nametag" in Google search for reference. Then sketch it until you get a bone shape structure.
Extrude the Nametag
Extrude the bone to 2mm. Then extrude the bone's edges to 1.85mm.
Draw the Hole
Make a key chain ring hole. Scale it to 3mm on the outer circle and 1.8mm on the inner circle.
Make the Hole
Extrude the keychain holder 2mm. After that, extrude the hole for the ring to go through.
Scale and Name It
All we need is to scale 2 times bigger. Use the "Non Uniform" type because we don't want to be thicker. We need to type your dog's name onto the name tag. Mine is Chase, but I made a blank one and you can change it in here. Extrude it 1.5mm. Click ok and export it to .stl file.
Print It
Import the .stl file into a 3D printer slicer. If you want higher resolution and quality, I recommend you to use the layer height 0.1mm. Click slice and print it.
If you can, you need to change filament color when it starts printing the text. If you cannot, you need to paint the text after the printing is finished.
Finish Printing
The printing has just finished! Now, let's assemble the nametag.
Slide the small key ring to the nametag, and hook them all to your dog's collar.
Viola! The nametag is ready! Enjoy your dog's nametag!
