DIY Doorbell With 555 Timer + UM66T Chip
The 555 timer ic and the UM66T are a perfect couple! Not only is this circuit great for beginners, but can actually be used in daily life. As a real functioning doorbell! The doorbell is running on standard AA batteries but all of the components can be purchased for less then $7.00!
Making This Circuit on a Breadboard!
This circuit is very simple to build on a breadboard. You will need the following components though:
- 1x 555 Timer IC
- 1x UM66T 19L
- 1x BC548 Transistor
- 1x Tactile Momentary Switch
- 1x10K OHM Resistor
- 1x 18K OHM Resistor
- 1x 100 OHM Resistor
- 1x 1000uF Capacitor
- 1x 4.5V AA Battery Pack
- 1x 0.5W 18OHM Speaker
- 1x Breadboard

PCB Circuit
Using Fritzing I turned my breadboard design into a PCB layout! I then proceeded to download my GERBER files and went to https://jlcpcb.com and 10 boards cost me only $2.00!!!! The Boards only took 48Hours to make then they were shipped!
Receiving the PCB's
Within 5 days my PCB's arrived! I inspected each individual PCB's and they all looked great! Very impressed!
Soldering!
I soldered all of the necessary components to the PCB board! starting with the biggest components and then finishing with the external components! When i connected power and pressed the button, The circuit worked!
