DIY Harry Potter Theme Wand

Hello again instructables family.

I am back again with a new project. This time we are going to make a wand. Yes a Magic wand. It’s not specially one of the wands from the Harry Potter movie but I think this wand we are going to make is a great wand for your cosplays and your children or you. This is the second wand that I made but first one was much better than this one I think.

By the way, I’m making this instructables for showing the techniques that I used. You don’t have to make all the stuffs as same as I did. That is all limited by your imagination and your skills.

This is the first wand that i made. Like i said it is all limited by your imagination you can use every kind of paint or materials. In this wand i used a white stone named "meerschaum". this stone is extracting from my country specially in my city, Eskişehir. 70% of the world's meerschaum reserves are in Eskişehir.

• Stick ( I used my old broken arrow shaft. I'm also archer.)
• Hot silicon or hot glue
• Craft knifes or you can use some other knife
• acrylic paints
• brushes
• water

• Old cd or dvd for mixing the paints

SKILLS THAT YOU NEED TO HAVE FOR THIS PROJECT;

• Ability to use tools such as knifes and hot glue gun
• creativity;
• Painting skills

The stick that i used for this wand is about 30 cm. You can change this as you wish.

The technique that i used here was very simple,

• Hold the stick
• Mark the handle

In this part after we marked the handles position, we are going to make the handle. I used hot glue gun for this. As you can see in the photos, you can apply the wax to the stick like this and make your handle. You can make whatever you want in this part because this is the main part of the wand.

You can cut the wrong parts that you made and easily you can fix it with wax.

For this part we need the knifes. With gentle moves start shaping the shaft thick to thin. you can give some old stuff looking by knife strokes and also you can use sandpaper.

The hardest part of the project is here... you can use old cd for mixing the paints. In this part i wanted to paint it dark brown, you can paint it as you want. In this part you really need your painting skills and creativity.
