DIY LED Pokemon Shoes
Cartoons have been in our life since childhood.
In my childhood, I used to saw many cartoon and animation series on TV. I liked many cartoons but some of them have left a mark on my memory. Pokemon is one of them.
Let me share something about Pokemon anime series. This animation series follows the quest of the main character, Ash Ketchum (known as Satoshi in Japan), a Pokemon Master in training, as he and group of his friends travel around the fictitious world of Pokemon along with their Pokemon partners.
Recently, when Pokemon Go game was launched, after playing it recalled all my Childhood Memories, when I used to spend whole time before TV watching Pokemon and this is one of the major inspiration that made me do this Instructable and also after seeing footwear contest on Instructable the artist inside me provoked me to make something that could help me recall my childhood memories and share my ideas & creativity with you.
Let's begin..
Supplies
Things you'll need are:
- A pair of old Shoes
- Sand paper
- Permanent Glue
- Led's
- Switches
- Wires
- Sticking-tape
- Acrylic colours
- Brushes
- Batteries (9V)
- Silver colour
Preparing Canvas...
First of all, I cleaned the shoes and abraded them so that it become easy to paint them.
Fixing the Shoes
The shoes I used were torn from places so I fixed them with permanent glue.
Drawing Characters...
We'll draw an outline of the characters to paint.
Painting...
Then we'll paint the shoes as shown in photos.
Preparing Lights...
To make shoes look fancy I thought of putting some led's on the border of shoes. So, I took some led's (I have used yellow and red led's) and connect them in series.
After connections it will look like as shown in photos.
Make Place for Switches and Batteries...
I thought of putting an on/off switch to control the led's but there was no place to keep them. So, I thought of making a hole in the shoe heel.
To make hole, first of all make markings on shoe then use some sharp blade to cut it through. I didn't had any sharp blade but I had a spare soldering iron whose tip had turned black and needed to be changed. So, I used it to make a place for fixing switch.
I thought of putting batteries at the back of shoe so that it will look fancy.
Assembling Components...
Then, I assembled all the things on shoe, glued the batteries at back, make connections.
After that shoes looked like as shown in photos.
Detailing...
After assembling, I painted some more Pokemon's at the back side of shoes, painted battery and wires to make them invisible.
Final Look...
Pokemon Shoes look like as shown in photos.
Hope You like it !!!
