DIY Marble Maze

This is a cool Marble Maze you can make if you're bored or just for fun. It's a 7 step project.

MATERIALS

  • Paper and pencil
  • Ruler
  • Cardboard
  • Knife or scissors
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • Marble

WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN USING HOT GLUE GUN. IT WILL BURN IF YOU GET SOME ON YOUR SKIN.

Draw Out Your Maze

First you want to draw out your maze. You can make it as big or small as you want. Mine isn't very hard to solve and there aren't any obstacles but if you want you can put holes here and there for the marble to fall through for a obstacle.

Gather Cardboard

Gather as much cardboard you can find. The maze won't take a whole box of cardboard unless you make one big giant one but it's always good to have extra just in case.

Cut Out a Base for Your Maze

Cut out a piece of cardboard for your base. If you want a big maze then cut out a big piece of cardboard. I would use a ruler and pencil when cutting so you can make it straight and even.

Draw Your Maze Onto the Cardboard.

You want to draw your maze on your piece of cardboard so you know where to put your walls.

Cut and Measure Out Your Pieces for Your Walls

I used my ruler to measure out how long each of the of walls were so I could cut out a perfect piece. Use the glue gun and glue along one of the lines you drew on the cardboard. Put your piece of cardboard on top of the glue so it stands up. I made mine one inch high and one-tenth of a mm thick.

Glue All Your Cardboard Pieces You Cut Out for Your Walls Onto the Cardboard

I started my walls from the outer corners of the maze and made my way to the middle. It took me about 2 hours to glue all my cardboard pieces for my walls. I glued each wall one at a time, which took longer to make, but if you have time and can glue and make your cardboard pieces faster than I can, you can finish earlier.

Play With It.

Last, but not least, play with it. Just drop a marble in the maze and try to make your way to the finish. It's actually a cool, fun maze that you and whoever can play with. It's also great for little kids. My little sister loves it.
