Trace the Template
Print
the template out onto an extra piece of paper. Cut out the template and trace
the outline onto colored paper. Make small marks where the fold lines intersect
the sides.
Cut Out the Shapes
Cut out the traced shape. You’ll need three
of these pieces for the large tree and two pieces for the small tree.
Score and Fold
Using the empty ballpoint pen, old credit card, or bone folder along with the ruler,
score the fold lines (marked with dashes on the template). Fold the paper
accordion-style along the score lines.
Glue Folds Together
Glue
the inner folds of each tree piece together as shown. Repeat for all tree
pieces.
Glue End Flaps
Glue the end flaps of the pieces together to join them.
Make Star Topper
To make the star topper, print out the template and cut it out. Then trace it onto
colored paper and cut out the traced shape. Score and fold along the dashed
lines, and gently shape into a three-dimensional star.
Attach it to your tree with glue.
Enjoy Your Masterpiece!
Use your tree as a centerpiece or as an accent on a mantle. Or make more trees in different sizes for a striking effect!
