DIY Radio Safe
This safe is a cool, sturdy way to store your valuables. It is easy to make and it works great. It can be made with any old radio that has a removable back. This project is great for beginners all the way to experts. It is great for me because it costs nothing, it keeps my money safe, and it looks cool.
Supplies
- An old radio (I got mine for free at the tip)
- An old piece of card
- Gaffa tape
- Set of screwdrivers
- Jigsaw
- Wire snips
- Drill with small bit
Take Apart the Radio
Open up the back of the radio and remove all parts that cannot be seen from the outside of the radio. Snip wire that are connected to the front components of the radio.
Create Divider
Cut your piece of card to fit in your radio, dividing all of the electrical tuners/volume buttons from the safe area. Tape the card to the radio.
Cut a Hole in the Back
Use a drill to drill a hole in the back of the radio. Use this hole to jigsaw a small slot in the back of the radio. This will be used to put money into your safe.
Screw It All Up
Place the back on, and screw it all up.
Get Your Money Out
To get your money out, simply unscrew the back.
