We're always looking for something different to decorate our home. In this case handmade home decors are the best. In this instructable I'll show you how to make a rustic candle holder in few easy steps and using easily available materials.

Materials Needed

To make the photo frame, candle holder and vase you'll need:

  1. Twigs,
  2. Glue,
  3. X-acto knife,
  4. Clear glass jar (of any size you want).

Preparing the Sticks

Hold a twig vertically with the jar,

Mark the required length of the twig for the candle holder, you can keep them shorter, longer or equal to the jar.

Use the X-acto knife to cut the twig,

Now use this twig to measure the rest of the twigs and cut them all accordingly.

Cut enough twigs to cover the whole jar.

Coloring the Twigs

After cutting the twigs you can apply 1-2 coats of golden or silver paint to give them a classy look.

Allow the color to dry before you start gluing them on the jar.

Gluing the Twigs

Now that the twigs are prepared simply glue them around the clear glass jar.

Apply glue on the twig and stick it vertically to the jar,

Keep gluing the twigs until the whole jar is covered.

Allow the glue to dry.

Varnish

If you don't prefer coloring the candle holder you can apply a coat or 2 of wood varnish to give it a shiny look.

I made these for my mom, she loves handmade home decors. She'll be returning home next week from hospital, hope she likes'em! If you're a rustic home decor fan then you should definitely try making these.

Have fun!
